HE HEARD THE CAPTAIN'S VOICE ON A BOOKMAKER LINE. THE CRICKET BOARD SAID WAIT UNTIL AFTER THE SERIES. HE KEPT THE TAPE FOR ELEVEN DAYS.
In March 2000, Detective Sergeant Raymond Okonkwo intercepted a call involving Terrence Roux, captain of the Springvale cricket team, discussing match conditions with unlicensed bookmaker Sanjay Mehta. Despite identifying Roux's voice with 94% confidence, he was instructed to wait for evidence release until after a series.
