In March 2000, Detective Sergeant Raymond Okonkwo intercepted a call involving Terrence Roux, captain of the Springvale cricket team, discussing match conditions with unlicensed bookmaker Sanjay Mehta. Despite identifying Roux's voice with 94% confidence, he was instructed to wait for evidence release until after a series.
