On August 4, 2006, Anand Kapoor rejected Helix Pharma’s patent application for imesitran mesylate, based on Section 3d of the Patents Act. Despite having clear legal grounds, Helix filed seventeen appeals, leading to seven years of litigation that ultimately culminated in a Supreme Court decision against them.
