In 1987, Lars Hedman authorized a payment of 310,000 kronor to a senior official at the Swedish Medicines Authority which helped secure approval for an antidepressant called Solvara. Despite documenting the transaction and publishing his account twenty-three years later, no charges were filed due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
