The May 19, 2016, faculty senate meeting ended with eleven votes endorsing a 3.2 GPA floor, leaving Professor Marcus Chen and two others opposed. Within a year, the school's average GPA rose from 3.1 to 3.5, while Chen's grading approach remained unchanged and resulted in his reassignment.
